Legal Assistance
The Legal Program of the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault was established in 1998 to provide and expand the accessibility of direct, holistic civil legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Legal Program attorneys and staff are specially trained in the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We know that trauma resulting from victimization affects many areas of a person’s life, and that there is not a solution in the law for every problem. As such, we strive to solve problems with survivors based on the entirety of their lived experiences and current realities. We emphasize safety, self-empowerment, and healing throughout our representation.

Legal Representation
The main focus of our Legal Program is to represent survivors with civil legal needs related to their victimization. We represent clients located throughout the entire state of Wyoming. Here is a list of the types of civil legal cases we help survivors navigate
Technical Assistance & Systems Advocacy
We engage in efforts to improve the civil justice system through professional practice and interaction with judges, the bar, and communities statewide
We offer legal and other technical expertise and training to allied professionals to help solve problems or promote systems change
Victims Services & Advocacy
We provide trauma-informed lawyering and safety planning
We assist clients in identifying and obtaining non-legal resources through referrals
